Business email compromise is a huge problem and can cause endless headaches. Your email account holds keys to every other part of your business (and many times personal) life. While attackers used to simply gain access to accounts to send out spam, now a typical attack tries to leverage access to your account to directly defraud you or someone you know.
99.9% of these attacks can be thwarted by simply enabling a second factor of authentication. Your password (the first factor) is something you know. The second factor can either be something you are (fingerprints, face scans) or something you have (phone number, smart phone, hardware token).
When MFA is enabled with app-based notifications, you will immediately be notified if somebody other than you is trying to log into your account using your password. You can deny that access with the tap of a button. What was a potential disaster is now a small inconvenience of updating your password.
MFA is already included with your Microsoft 365 or Google Workplace subscription. Why IRONSCALES?

Why SaaS Backup?
Microsoft offers some functionality for keeping Microsoft 365 data protected with retention periods (which are available on more expensive subscription plans) and recycle bins. This can only provide good protection against administrative mistakes, rather than malicious actions. SaaS Backup stores your Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint data in a secure data center which is independent and isolated from Microsoft.
Once protection is in place, we recommend a more aggressive move to cloud services, including SharePoint and Teams for collaborative documents and messaging, as well as OneDrive for individual storage.
